Photo upload troubleshooting

If you are unable to upload photos, please check the troubleshooting options below:

Option 1:

Images must be in JPEG, GIF or PNG formats to upload to the site, any other format such as Word Documents and PDFs will not be accepted. For best results we suggest that you make the image dimensions approximately 850 pixels for the smallest edge of your photos.

Option 2:

Configure your firewall settings! If your firewall blocks or restricts information received to or from your computer, this may prevent you from uploading to our website. Please attempt to upload your photo after each of these steps:

1. Add to your firewall exceptions list. For Windows firewalls, please use these steps:

Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7

2. Make sure you do not have two firewalls running. Running multiple firewalls on the same connection can cause issues with Internet connectivity. If you are using a second firewall, disable the Windows firewall.

3. Disable your firewall temporarily to see if you can upload to Ownster. Please be advised that you will want to re-enable your firewall after trying this step!

a) If you can upload with the firewall disabled, your firewall is the problem.

b) If you still can not upload with the firewall disabled, please move on to the next step.

4. If you are using McAfee or similar software to protect your computer you have to make sure that there is a FULL access enabled for current internet browser in McAfee or other firewall, internet connections for programs setting. With OUTGOING access selected, photo upload will not be possible.

Option 3:
